Lenny loves… St Mary’s Hospice – Part 3

Today I am going to talk to you all about the different ways you can get involved with St Mary’s Hospice, if you choose to do so.

As you will be aware, I am running the 5K Chocolate Run on Saturday! I cannot actually believe it is this week! ARGH!! but there are so many ways you can get involved, from shopping in their many shops around Birmingham, donating goods for the shops, donating your time to volunteer in the hospice or shops and then of course there is the fundraising.

Moonlight memories walk

St Mary’s run a number of fundraising events across the year, but today’s focus will be on their Moonlight Memories Walk in July.

The theme for this years walk is ‘Let it Glow’ so get your brightest attire on, your glow sticks out and your trainers on and get walking!

The walk is on Saturday the 11th July with a 10pm kick off. You can choose to walk either 8 miles or their new 5 mile route which will start at King Edward’s Boys School, in Edgbaston. All are welcome to take part, men women and children (over 12).

The walk passes through the lovely Harborne and Selly Oak, passing St Mary’s Hospice along the way and then returning to King Edwards School.

The Moonlight Memories walk has played host to over 650 people over the last 2 years, and has raised over £50,000 for the hospice, which is a great effort from all those who have taken part.

If you want to find out more about what your money could go towards then check out my previous posts here and here.

If the Moonlight Memories Walk takes your fancy then you can register online or if you can manage to get a group of 4 or more then email events@birminghamhospice.org.uk for a ‘Team Registration Form’. Entrance is £10 and includes a fundraising pack which contains bottled water, free gift, medal and there will be refreshments along the route to keep you going.

This is a great event for a great cause, so why not get involved!

If you would like to make a kind donation to my charity run then click here, it would be greatly appreciated by all those at St Mary’s Hospice, and also by me!

Lenny xx
